Strength through Unity and Understanding
Located in the beautiful town of Fort Portal, Western Uganda, surrounded by various tourism attractions like national parks and lush forests YAWE had humble beginnings. Registered in 2000 and developed by a group of Widows and their children. It's revolutionary idea is to organise the youth and women under one forum, offering a platform of co-operation for the promotion of human rights, HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns, support of orphans and encourage activities of self reliance. YAWE received visitors (Thomas Fuchs & Elisabeth Fritz) from Austria, in Sept 2010..They work hard helping YAWE open their office, expand the handicraft project and develop and evaulate an Educational Puppet show, covering primary health care & HIV awareness issues
